Piano and Music Theory tuition,

Piano Rite was founded by Max Rafeian, who studied classical piano at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. After completing ABRSM grade 8 in 2014, he started an undergraduate course at RWCMD where he studied with distinguished piano teachers such as Michael Young, Richard Ormrod and Alison Bowring. In addition to classical piano Max studied jazz and free improvisation with Huw Warren during his third and fourth year at the college.

Since graduating, Max has been using his expertise to teach piano to students of a range of different backgrounds, abilities and ages. We provide one-to-one lessons and also online tuition. The music we specialise in includes Classical and Jazz. We help students to improve their skills in Sight-Reading, Music Theory, Aural Training, Improvisation and Composition. Best piano teacher ever!

Max teaches my 8 year old daughter piano and she enjoys her lessons as he makes them interesting and fun for her age even though he is thorough and teaches professionally, giving useful tips to improve practising that will build a good foundation for her to develop her interest and skill. Max is very talented and knowledgeable and good at understanding the needs of his student. Max is punctual and flexible and very patient. He goes the extra mile. We have recently changed lessons to online due to relocation and being an 8 year old, Max has her interacting, engaging and she is able to concentrate for the hour. We have seen great improvements in her piano playing and reading of the notes. Max is highly recommended!

Excellent Tuition

Max makes lessons fun but educational. My 3 daughters regained their love of playing rather than practice becoming a chore.
Max is friendly, professional and very good at what he does. I can not recommend Piano Rite highly enough.

A very easy 5 stars!!

Max continues to be a fantastic tutor to my two daughters (aged 13 and 14). They both started learning piano and reading music last year with Max after I insisted that they learned an instrument.
Max has been very tolerant, calm and professional and built a very good rapport with my daughters to help them engage, develop their skills and now actual enjoy the piano and playing music (hats off to Max for this achievement!)
