Paws in Hand Dog Training & Behaviour

Having worked with the Paws in Hands team training our puppy (Ralph) from just a few months old, I can say the training is excellent. It's clear to see that Denise has a real passion and care for all the dogs she works with, she's always willing to go the extra mile to help out - even when the classes have finished! Would definitely recommend!

Having successfully completed our first puppy training course with Jo at the Paws in Hand classes we were disappointed that the second course had to be cancelled owing to the lock down. We found Jo a brilliant trainer. Each session was crafted to encourage both Dougal our Border Collie and ourselves. It was wonderful to see Dougal develop from a very nervous 10 week old into a lively much more confident puppy! It was also great to meet up with other puppies and owners in the same position as us.

We were keen to continue Dougal’s training and jumped at the chance of Denise’s Zoom training. Having mastered using the app (it’s very easy!) Its proving to be as good if not better than the actual classes. Denise’s wealth of knowledge is both boundless and priceless. We are able to get expert one to one guidance while also enjoying the group experience. This is backed up with really useful videos. We would definitely recommend Denise and The Paws in Hand team.

When COVID19 forced us into lockdown midway through our puppy training sessions with Paws in Hand we were concerned for the social development of our 16-week-old puppy.
Denise's online training sessions via Zoom however have been fantastic.
She delivers her reward-based training in small groups via short videos and commentary and is also able to watch owners practising with their pets, offering invaluable support and advice.
We'd recommend Denise to any dog owner.

Denise is a brilliant trainer, and has adapted to the COVID19 situation amazingly. Her 'online live group classes' work suprisingly well - even with my 3 month old spaniel! The class is through Zoom, and is a mixture of talk, videos/photos with explanations, demonstrations, and live coaching of our work with our dogs. The classes are small and supportive, and we get through so much in each lesson, tailored to our specific needs and questions. It's lovely to have things to work on each week, and to know how to progress. I highly recommend these classes, they are fabulous in this time of lockdown.

We have been training with Paws in Hand for several years and with several of our dogs/puppies. It’s very positive reward based training and our dogs have done very well with it. The variety of classes offered is excellent, from general training, to Kennel Club Good Citizens, to more social and fun classes. The addition of new classes held at an outdoor venue over the past year has also been excellent. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
