About the design of the interior

Wonderful atmosphere, it’s like going back in time 1980’s to be exact. A truly great variety of drinks and foods that preserve this trip back in time.

Many venues in one

This place is amazing. For a start it's in a bit of a grim area, so its incongruity makes it shine even brighter. The bar area is more like a study or old boys club than a boozer, although the beer selection is definitely pub-like. The restaurant is excellent. The service is swift and jovial. The starters are probably worth giving a miss because they pale in comparison to the mains and the desserts. This is well beyond gastro food. There's also a beer garden out the back, a hidden, secluded roof terrace, an upstairs bar where they have comedy and live bands, AND there's even a special karaoke room with 'booze' button service. What is not to enjoy?!

Amazing party!

I went to a friends birthday party on the Friday last week in the Private Room and my first reaction was WOW! It was so pretty. The wallpaper, the paintings, and the lovely lovely roof terrace were GORGEOUS! (As you can see I am an interiors person!) My friend had generously ordered some canapes and cocktails, we plugged on our own music and had a wonderful evening. I can't wait to book it out for my birthday!! Is anyone from Paradise listening? Maybe I could get the room free for one night? :)

Great night out

We ate here recently, and I know they have a posh chef, but rather expensive for what is a basically a noisy jostling gastropub (£15.75 for a chicken and mushroom pie - and that was the cheapest item on the main course menu!). It was the Wagyu of chickens I believe - best not to put it in a pie with gravy so it tastes just like...well chicken. The steak was excellent (about the same price as my pie - que?) The wine is pretty well priced and a good solid list ... and the puddings whilst small on size and again a little steep, did look stunning. I think what I am trying to say is that its hard to just 'pop in for a bite' here - you are looking at £40 a head min, which is a shame, it being a local boozer. That aside its still high on my list, if you go at the weekend you get the added bonus of a great little nightclub upstairs which is open until 2am. There is also a private dining room seating max 20 which is definitely worth a booking. Smoker-friendly with gardens downstairs and a large busy balcony upstairs too. Well worth a visit, if just for the hand-painted Italian wallpaper in the ladies ..
