Business overview

Welcome to The Panama - home of the finest Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine in Cardiff

The Panama is an unusual name for a restaurant to say the least, but the Panama has been open in Cardiff since 1976. Our unique restaurant that serves up dishes with delicate flavours from the north east of Bangladesh and India, the Panama can hold fifty-two people in the main dining area and ten people in the lounge. Head chef, Md Shejil Miah, trained in Bangladesh with over twelve years catering experience, creates dishes exclusively from this region. Dishes such as his delicious onion bhajis, vegetable samosas and multi-course set meals with a selection of Bangladeshi curries. The Panama only uses the finest local suppliers of fresh produce and do not use additives other than specific natural colourings for presentation. The Panama is also an intimate yet stylish venue to enjoy a pre and post dinner drink. Whether you prefer casual, leisurely, business or an intimate dinner for two, the Panama restaurant & takeaway sets the perfect tone and mood.

Best curry in Cardiff

We have been going to the Panama for over 20 years now and have never had a bad meal. Ahmed is a lovely man who remembers exactly what sort of food we like and will adjust the menu for us if we ask him to. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. This is not one of those, trying to be fancy, restaurants, it is a proper Indian restaurant with lovely food. My favourite meals are lamb korma and Anakali bahar. Not sure of the spelling, but the taste is 100%.

this is honestly the only place i go for my Indian curry.
it is such good value for money the average price for one curry is £5-6 and then rice you pay £1.50 extra. we always feel stuffed after eating here two curry's will easily feed 4 people we always get 2 rice when there is 4 of us. if you do take out it is 25% off and if you are a student you can get an extra 15% off as well. All the food is so yummy. i would honestly recommend it to everyone.
