Where Cats come first

Hello there, we at Pampurrs, strive to make your feline companions stay as pleasurable as possible, so you can go on your hols with complete peace of mind

We are a medium sized cattery, with 19 separate chalets, 4 of which are large “family units”. The cattery is positioned adjacent to our house, which means that our guests are very much part of the everyday running of our home.

Pampurrs is run with an air of what we call “relaxed efficiency”. To that end we keep our paperwork to a minimum, allowing more time with our guests. We feel that our “room service” is second to none!

We strongly recommend that you view us and the cattery before you make a booking. Please call to arrange a time, so we can ensure that either Mark or Alison are available to show you around. Occasionally we are not available during our opening times due to vets appointments etc.

Won't leave my cats here again!

The gentleman I dropped my cats off seemed perfectly fine. I picked my cats up after a 4 night stay, I found my cats hiding under their bedding behind a closed door. Some of their bedding had been laying in their litter tray and was filthy. I asked the young lady who I picked them up from if they had been ok but with no response. They appeared thinner when I picked them up than when I dropped them off. I have emailed them 3 times without a response! Will definitely not leave my cats with them again!

Litter trays very scarcely filled, leading to bed wetting. This apparently is not unusual at this cattery.

My cat loves this place

My cat comes in a couple times a year and we both love this cattery. The owners have their own cats which some are usually around when you visit. Whenever needing medications as well, nothing is too much for them to help with. Would highly recommend! You can even view before to check it's the right place for you.

A wonderful place for your cat to stay

Our cat was so happy at Pampurrs, and she is not an easy cat to look after! The owners are obviously cat lovers & show the cats tremendous affection as well as looking after their practical needs.
The owners are polite, helpful, and happy to chat about how the 'holiday' went for our cat.
All of the cats at the cattery seem happy and well cared for.
Highly recommended.

Cat Welfare not got good

I left my cat with them for 4 weeks I wish I didn't bother, the owners are rude aggressive abusive and uncaring.

They also don't answer the phone when trying to find out about my pet. Yet they have audacity to say we didn't pickup our phone when they phoned. Although they had three different numbers to try.

Also when collecting our cat the male owner became vocally abusive and started telling me about how to look after my cat although I have the cat 9 years and I know how the cat will behave. It got to the point he was so aggressive the female owner asked him to leave.

Also you need to make sure of the price you pay per cat as there website clearly states that it is £8.50 per cat although they charged me £8.75 there is no clear display of prices and the website is misleading.

As for hygiene this is not good there seems to be a poor level of this and this was shown when when I collected my cat as the travel box was filthy and the bedding supplied which was brand new when passed to them is stained and not clean it has things stuck to it like straw.

Also as every owner will know you have to hand the cattery a vaccination card which we did, due to moving home the male owner said he would look after this till my return unfortunately due to his aggressive nature he denied on collection of the cat although I handed this in front of a witness stating I did hand it to him on arrival.

SO the experience has been very upsetting for my cat and me as a whole and would advise any owner wanting to use their services to think strongly about using them and use another cattery instead it would be for the benefit for the owner and cat.

All the other cattery's I have used over the years this has been the worse in cleanness and customer service and looking after the welfare of my cat.

There is also one other thing to point out they say that they have cats of their own but what is concerning me is do they have their cats vaccinated or not? As I saw a cat that had been involved in fight and was in distress with a scratched face and a bad cut to the chin, when confronted it passed off as he always gets in to fights. I think in my opinion he needed medical attention but they seemed unconcerned for the cats welfare.
