BEST BAR IN NEWCASTLE

5
Lovely spot for either some drinks or cocktails which are amazing or lovely breakfasts. The staff especially LUKE are so pleasant and nothing is to much trouble. Cannot wait to return, good value for money

Used to be good..

When Pacific first opened in Newcastle it was a novelty bar with it's modern design, lights and glass front. Now it feels a little tired! I've eaten there on one occasion and after a suspect looking hair in my food haven't since! The drinks are reasonable - they do cheap double spirits and a range of cocktails. It never seems to get really busy as it used to in it's hey day but is always pleasantly full. I quite enjoy a beer in here after a hard days shopping on Northumberland Street but I wouldn't particularly go there on a night out. The toilets are nice - everything is very silver and round!

Clean but non-descript

Pacific is a pleasant bar, with restaurant on the third floor, and bar/lounge on the ground floor. It is light and spacious, and generally well presented with attractive lighting, and modern design. Part of the kitchen area is open to view by diners. The prices are quite reasonable for food, although offers are few and far between. There is also often a section of the menu crossed out as out of stock for several weeks at a time. The food is basic but of a decent quality, lots of paninis, pastas, burgers, pizzas, soup etc. The restuarant is busiest on a lunchtime, especially on weekends and school holidays when it is filled with shoppers and buggies at precarious angles. Downstairs the bar gets quite busy on most lunchtimes, and especially so on matchdays, however is fairly quiet on an evening, as the pub is too generic and out of the way to appeal to most students, but it is a good location for a quiet civilised drink or a first date that may turn into dinner after!

Spectacular toilets

Pacific is a large, glass-fronted bar just off the main shopping street in Newcastle upon Tyne. Through the day, it is host to weary shoppers grabbing a bite to eat on one of the upper floors (there are three floors in total). Outside of office hours, workers from the city centre often go to unwind but at weekends, it is full of revellers. Being quite close to St James' Park, there are often supporters there pre or post match.
The food is nice enough and reasonable in place and the toilets are very nice (a little futuristic).
