Stephen approached a whole range of tasks, some smaller, some larger, with enthusiasm and commitment. He had underestimated the time they would take - his 'two days' estimate turned into almost four, and while that left us not paying as much as a more realistic estimate would have cost us, we had him in the house twice as long as we expected. Most of the jobs - such as creating and fixing stair handrails, fixing curtain rails, repairing outside paving - were successfully completed, and Stephen proved creative in finding solutions for some slightly difficult issues. We would not employ him again as a joiner, because the shelves he put up in our pantry fell short of the highest standards. We could recommend him for smaller jobs not involving any kind of proper joinery.
