I was so excited about going to Chinatown with my daughter for the first time today. the first place we went into was oriental delight. I didn't know what any of the items were, so obviously looked at the ingredients on all the things I picked up. we must have been in there about 20 mins, when I have the man working there, come up to me, point at me and my daughter, and tell us to get out! I was in shock! I asked why. the answer was" go now!" I asked if I could at least pay for what I had. No.
I was so embarrassed! the only thing I could think of as a reason was that my daughter and I had picked some of the stuff up that was on sale, and then put it back as it was over a year out of date, but we never made a fuss about it. I would not ever recommend this place for anyone that wants good customer service or anything in date

Fantastic variety of snacks and grocery

Found some delicious spicy sauces and biscuits in there. My little girl back home absolutely loves those Hello Kitty's snacks.

They do offer special offers for a range of products with some of them are on buy-1-get-1-free bargain, though those are about mostly 3-6 months from expiry. Tried a few and they are reasonably nice.

Service is unbeatable, in terms of a chinese grocery store. Amazingly, they have an English-speaking manager running the place!

Surely will be back there (and also the chinese restaurants around) when I'm on my next business trip.

A wide selection, but check expiry dates.

I purchased some Koala no March chocolate cookies, and when I got home I noticed that they had expired in late November last year. This was the same with some Pretz, but they expired at the beginning of December.

While these foods are not too badly affected by expiry dates, it's still poor business to put expired products on shelves and allow people to purchase them. There was some other food there that would be potentially dangerous after expiration. I wonder how fresh those products were?

One thing's for sure - I won't be going back.
