Business overview

  • A deep compassion for animals
  • Professional, experienced vets
  • A warm and friendly welcome
  • Free care with Pal For Life
  • Luxury boarding for cats
  • Complete young pet programme

The Orchard Pal For Life Scheme is better than pet insurance. Members have free vaccination and treatment and discounts off medicines, parasite control, neutering, food and pet products. Free check-up whenever you want. Cover is available for any animal, healthy or sick, young or old. Subscription does not increase with age or worsening health (unlike insurance).

The Little Nippers Club is our programme for puppies, kittens and bunnies. It includes the full course of vaccinations followed by monthly health and growth checks with advice and discounts off parasite treatments and food. All of this value at an affordable price. And all free if your pet joins Pal For Life.

Our new Oldbury surgery has a physio and hydro unit, specialising in helping pets with lameness or mobility problems.

A Caring Vet

Thank you to the wonderful caring vets for their kindness when our beautiful cat sunny was put to sleep. We will never forget their empathy and we will never forget Sunny. We appreciate their sensitivity at such an emotional time. Maggie & Tony

Definitely not good

Claiming they don't treat American Bulldogs because they are a "Banned breed" they're not. Also that they are related to pitbulls which is ridiculous. Absolutely unprofessional and embarrassing to witness a veterinary centre behave this way.

I'm sure this is a mistake by the owner perhaps not even the vets at all. However it make me question the integrity and quality of the service since the owner at very least is incapable of researching the list of banned breeds before discriminating against a breed of dog.

Would avoid for sure.

Unprofessional

Don’t know they’re banned breeds from a family pet and refused emergency care to an American bulldog

Totally Unreliable

I took out the Plan for Life scheme so my cat would be safe and so that I'd have peace of mind that someone would help if she were ever ill. A year, and over £300 later, I had to BEG - quite literally, beg - to get help as I wanted to call in some of that expenditure. I do NOT expect to be fobbed off with, 'We're very busy; there aren't any appointments at all for all of next week.' Appalling. My cat is ILL. That's WHY I took out the Plan, so she would be seen in a timely manner at my Harborne practice. After making a thorough nuisance of myself, I was grudgingly given an appointment at a sister surgery 5 miles away - and I had to wait a further two days for my ailing cat to get seen. This is NOT what I signed up for! What's the point of the Plan if I can't even see a vet? Why accept my Arwen onto the scheme if you don't have room to see her for ONE appointment in 12 months? WHY? Really; tell me, because I'm at a complete loss. Absolutely disgraceful.

Appalling service from a practice that clearly does not need to retain clients. Steer Clear.

I rescued my Kits in Nov 17 from the RSPCA. Boosters were due within 12 months.
Orchard came recommended with an in-house insurance scheme to cover all costs. General clients also would also get text reminders for check-ups & boosters.
I enrolled my kits for £70 pcm!
I had to called them in July - sure that their 6 mth check-up was due. No apology; 'I don't know what happened Mr.M, you should have had a text message.'
Despite having paid >£400 for their insurance, I was charged >£100 for the 3 worming pills!
In Aug 18 I cancelled the 'in-house' insurance having sourced a deal online at £30 pcm.
I've just called them as I was sure the kits were due boosters. Again unapologetic 'I don't know what happened Mr.M, you should have had a text message.' They informed me the kits would need to have their whole vaccination course restarted with a significant and irrecoverable cost. My kits have been left exposed, I'm out of pocket & they have lost 3 customers.
Appalling service.
