John was very polite, professional, and patient, both on the telephone, and during his visit. He arranged a next day appointment, and thoroughly explained everything that he was doing to the washing machine, what the options were, and answered all of my questions. He was very careful not to cause too much mess, and cleaned everything up afterwards. He was also particularly patient with the lino, which had rucked up, underneath the washing machine. I would highly recommend John, and will definitely contact him again, when we need another repair.

Jon recently carried out Siemens tumble drier repair. Arrived exactly when he said he would. Carried out work promptly. Reasonable rates, would use again for any domestic appliance repair, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Jon not only fixed our dishwasher when it went wrong, but he also explained what had happened and how we could stop it reoccurring. He fitted us in within a couple of days of our calling, which was so helpful, and was quick and efficient - as well as being an exceptionally nice person.

Jon Oakley was very fast to reply to my enquiry and was able to come round first thing in the morning!!! unfortunately we were not available so were able to re schedule for the next day.
He knew straight away what the problem was with my brief description and was able to turn up with the parts needed and a quick quote of how much it would cost. He assured me that if any extra work needed carrying out under no circumstances would he carry this out without checking the cost with me first.
He was a very nice welcoming gentleman who you could trust easily and completed the job within 20 minutes! now I have a working oven again after 2 years!!!!!!

I wrote to John asking for an estimate to fix my oven. He emailed me back to say unfortunately I was out of his location range but proactively gave me a tip on a possible cause to the problem. I tried his suggestion and it worked! The oven was working again! He saved me the expense of calling out another engineer when he obviously didn't have to. It heartens me that there are still tradesmen who go the extra mile even when it's not in their interests to do so. Thank you John!

My Bosch washing machine broke down just after we returned from holiday with a pile of dirty washing. I looked online and saw Jon's reviews here, so called him. He diagnosed the problem and turned up with the replacement part, fitted it and I can now hear the washing machine happily working through the rest of the holiday washing. Great service, and I recommend him.

I suspected the element had failed in my oven so emailed Jon for advice. He was helpful and informative and offered to come round promptly to fix the problem. He gave me a very competitive quote. On meeting Jon, he was friendly and knowledgeable and fitted a new element quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or to use him again.

My dishwasher 'died' and I had no idea where to go for repairs. So I used the web and Jon had such good reviews I thought I would contact him. I phoned him at the end of the week and he came promptly the following Monday. He arrived on time, was clean, courteous and best of all found the fault (vegetable peel and egg shell had slipped by the filter - my granddaughter had been to stay and hadn't cleared the plates sufficiently!). Jon checked it was running well and left the kitchen clean and tidy. I would definitely use him again and recommended him highly.

Jon came quickly to mend our fridge/freezer. He was friendly, efficient, reasonably priced and punctual. We also had a broken handle on our cooker and he came back with a replacement for that another day. Good in every respect.

Jon has saved our skin, yet again. After being 90% sure our washing machine was dead, he wasn't content to leave it and went home and did more research an came up with one more thing he could try - and sure enough it is now fixed! Prompt, reliable, considerate and reasonably priced, Jon has sorted our washing machine, dishwasher and cooker hood and I can't recommend him highly enough.

Our dishwasher door stopped working shortly before Christmas. I turned to Yell.com and Jon was the second of two highly rated sole traders I tried, the first being too busy. First plus point was his answer phone message, which advised when his earliest appointment would be available. Second, he was able to give very clear instructions on what to look up, so he could come ready-prepared with a replacement latch. Jon arrived when promised, two days before Christmas, did the job quickly, and replaced the machine, kickboards etc, so that you'd never know he'd been there. Apart from the fact that our machine was working again! Reasonably priced, and charged what he quoted. Thanks!

I had a dishwasher which was playing up. Jon came out at short notice, arrived on time and offered a very efficient repair service. His charges are very reasonable and I feel very confident in his work. I would highly recommend him.

Mr Oakley repaired our dishwasher after we found the door wouldn’t close properly. In short time he had found what he thought was the fault but continued to check other areas of the machine to thoroughly confirm his diagnosis. After repairing the issue, which didn’t even require any new parts, Mr Oakley just charged us his initial 1.5 hour fee – a fraction of the cost of a new dishwasher or a D&G repair!

Mr Oakley was at all times polite, friendly and willing to discuss what he was doing. I was impressed that he brought his own cleaning products and left the whole area spotless. He was able to take payment in a number of ways including our cheque. He gave us a proper invoice receipt in which he wrote out a detailed description of the fault and work he had carried out. Mr Oakley said if we had any problems with the machine to give him a ring which was reassuring and was also very professional. We would be very happy to use Mr Oakley’s services again and would highly recommend him.

John Oakley has repaired our cooker (twice) and now our dishwasher. Didn't needlessly replace the part, mended and it works as of old. Good charges and we are not exactly local to Ely. I always recommend to everybody.

After weeks of removing sheets of ice from the floor of our 'frost free' fridge freezer, to prevent it melting and running across the floor - it was a joy to find Mr. Oakley, having been told by others they did not "do" refridgeration. He came promptly, was very efficient, bringing everything he needed to accomplish his task in with him, and completed in the time he estimated. I highly recommend him.

I contacted Oakley Domestic Appliance Repairs to repair the grill on my Rangemaster oven. Jon was quick to respond, and did alot of research ensuring he had the right part and understood the nature of the problem for me. Once he had obtained the part he had the grill working again in no time, and was very conscientious about working cleanly and efficiently while in my home. His prices were very reasonable, far better than what I had been quoted by Rangemaster. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.
