Unfortunately we would not recommend using North & Hawkins Building Consultancy after recently instructing them to survey a house we have now bought.Prior to buying the property we outlined a number of concerns, and paid a premium rate for a survey to gain perspective on the scale of these repairs, specifically in regards to it being a listed building.
The overall summary acknowledged the concerns we had but in conclusion they didn't see any reason to not go through with the purchase.We have since made ourselves aware of issue with the lead valley that go beyond the leak and repair we mentioned; it's structurally far more complicated, and essentially we will have to completely re-roof ASAP. This could have been observed easily from a window, with basic structural observation.
I would not recommend instructing these people to look at properties that are older and may have complicated issues. Definitely seek experts in historical building practices.
