Newlands Timber & Plywood Warehouse

I've been really impressed with Newlands in my dealings with them over the past 6 months. We placed a not insignificant order for 18 internal oak doors, ironmongery, handles, wood, plasterboard etc. which involved the doors arriving in different timescales from the supplier and an item returned to the suppliers for a credit note at one point. In all of my dealings with Richard and the team there, they've been nothing less than superb with their customer service. They held doors for me without quibble until they were needed at home. They're a fantastic local business and I won't be going anywhere else from now on if they can help me with what I need!

Today, experienced a very offensive day there; the lady on the till was engaged in a one sided chat with a much young attendant. She complained about youths in the street not wearing masks. She then went on to GLOAT that she doesn't bother using a face mask (& wasn't at the time I was there), never uses QR codes at shops she visits and deliberately is not registered nor has the COVID phone app, making it impossible for her to be trach & traced and made to self isolate.
As I'd heard enough of her rhetoric I left the shop saying "I'm leaving before I catch COVID", to which she laughed. I stopped, turned to her and said "This is not funny" ...adding "If you knew anyone who had died of it, that is how serious it is".
As good as Newlands and most of its staff are, this was a very unpleasant day for me.

Over many years I have found that all of the staff at Newlands have been consistently very helpful and professional. Never once in the numerous times that I have visited them for my timber(DIY) needs have I come away feeling anything less than happy and content. If I've ever had a query or needed advice over what I'm purchasing there, my questions have been answered readily, and very sound advice afforded me freely. If I've made an order there, then the staff always do their best to make sure that order gets out and delivered to me swiftly. Nothing is too much for them in going that extra mile to see to their customer. You would be extremely hard pushed to find any better customer care than what Newlands provide. It is abundantly clear that they truly value their customers, and they reflect this by providing a very top quality service to you each and every time. The prices knock spots off the 'big name' timber & DIY stores too. Excellent! Thank you Newlands. Bob K, Ormskirk.
