I am an Independent surveyor: I am not tied to any estate agents or mortgage companies, and I provide a very thorough and objective survey of a home. I am registered with RICS, and a Chartered Building Engineer, and The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

I only offer The RICS Building Survey (formerly known as a structural survey), which is their level three survey, and I do not conduct their level two Homebuyer Survey. Please note that I do not conduct valuations, preferring to concentrate my training on that of the condition of a property, formally known as Building Pathology.

The survey provides considerably more information than a mortgage valuation, which is in effect purely a valuation for the benefit of the lender, and that does not provide a survey for the buyer.

The survey can be adapted to the particular type of property, with an appropriate level of fee. The loft is inspected, if accessible, as are the cellar or sub floor voids, if accessible.

I use a camera on a pole to inspect the roof etc. The majority of my clients, are cash purchasers.
