Also traded as McCallum Maintenance and Fulton McCallum. Bathroom renovation done which we thought was fine at the time despite being a bit pricey and extra work added in. A few little cosmetic things weren't quite right but we let it go. Fast forward 12 months and our extractor fan stops working. Further investigation showed it wasn't connected to anything in the loft and was collecting stagnant water in the loft not draining away anywhere. Turns out it wasn't installed properly and we now have mould all through our roof as well as our kids rooms downstairs. Contacted Robert who said he would come and look, didn't show up first day, was an hour late the second..promised to come back and fix the next week after agreeing it “shouldn't have been installed like that”. Still waiting for him to come despite countless messages and calls which are now being ignored. AVOID this company at all costs and hire a proper builder. Now have to get a quote for the damage and contact fair trading.

Robert and his team carried out a full renovation to my new shop when we opened last year. From the outset, Robert was very professional and listened to what I wanted and what I needed and made recommendations that benefitted me and made things easier for me in the shop. His team were very friendly and worked extremely hard to have us opening at our scheduled date. My shop looked brand new once these guys had finished and the shop was spotless for us to come in and stock up. Nothing was too much hassle even after making last minute changes. Many of our customers have commented on how great the shop looks. As well as carrying out all the work inside the shop, Robert also replaced the whole shop front at the last minute for me as I decided that it would improve the shop overall. His team were still able to do this within the original timescale even though it was a last minute decision. I can’t recommend these guys enough who are very friendly and efficient.

Robert & his team are absolutely first class & he went the extra mile for me so many times throughout the project even working on Christmas Eve to get the job finished. He did roof & dormer window repairs, replaced a whole floor including the joists & plastering, it was so great to have all the services done by one company, I cant recommend him enough!

I have been using Robert now for about 9 months. He has always provided reasonable quotes which he then sticks to, rigidly, which is very impressive in this day and age. Of course changes are costed there and then, but that is usual with additional work. We have so far used Robert and his team for plumbing works, including installing radiators, moving radiators, flooring (phase 1), rewire the house (phase 2) and lastly removal of partition walls, opened up a wall, replaced rotten floor joists, and installed a new kitchen.

The team at McCallum Maintenance are now part of our family, our house our kids know them all by name, and they are some of the nicest builders, very polite and attentive. The quality of the work is good, very neat pipe runs, and cable runs. Furthermore he is excellent at snagging lists, keeping on top of what to make sure all jobs are complete.

I can certainly recommend Robert to anyone who is needing any restoration/refurbishment or building works.
