Established in 1924, Martin & Phelps has a long history of excellence in hairdressing. Whether you are looking for a restyle, cut, highlights, complete colour makeover, or special event style our passion is to help you achieve the look you want.

Our hair stylists are professionally trained and we use only the best products and latest techniques from Wella, L'Oreal, and Paul Mitchell to ensure that your cut and colour will work for you. We are also highly experienced in colour correction and can advise on homecare products.

New colour clients will require a patch test and are welcome to book for a Free Consultation.

We are also experienced in Wedding hair and can provide this in Salon or at your venue. Our beauty therapists offer bridal make-up and pre-wedding treatments.

Superb skills and service

I have been having my hair styled at Martin & Phelps for some time. They have superb cutting, colouring and styling skills. I often receive comments on my hair, which are totally down to their skills. I have found staff to be extremely professional at all times, and it is a pleasure to visit the salon.

The original barber my two teenage sons visited left the salon they originally went to. They tried a number of other barbers in Cheltenham but we’re never happy with the cut. Tried Tamika at Martin & Phelps, they absolutely love the style she does, it’s exactly how they want their hair to be. She is up on all the latest fashions. They have been three times now and they wont go anywhere else. All staff are very friendly and polite and go out of their way to fit you in. Prices slightly more than some barbers around but after having to pay twice in the past for corrective work by other salons this is well worth it. Tamika listens and does exactly what my boys ask her to do. She stops regularly to ask if they are happy and want more taken off etc, etc. So relieved to eventually find an amazing barber who listens!!!!

Awful avoid completely!

Awful place, rude staff, was charged more than I was told originally, she cut my child’s hair all off and one side longer, I only wanted a trim and my child wanted hair to grow. Completely useless hairdresser, seriously no taste or understanding of what customers want, clueless and backward, I’m absolutely gutted and so is my child.

My wife asked me to write this because she has no yell account. But yes, they are Ok / pretty good, nice & friendly and my wife was impressed by the service, she only booked because her regular salon is closed for 2 weeks for holiday.
