Marlborough Social Club

Is the Club opening on 4th July? I hope so!
Can the Directors confirm ,please. The Club is a great miss to al of us.

This Club was opened in 1944 as a canteen for the Bus Workers at Marlborough Crescent Bus Station, The Transport Workers Club (TU) Ltd. At that time, prospective member HAD to be a paid up union member!
In 1968, the name was changed to avoid confusion with another establishment on West Road.
The Club’s first premises were in Westmorland Rd, but relocated to the present address in May 2002, due to redevelopment!
The Club is very friendly with little or no trouble, and offers a range of entertainment to members and guest.
The 2 earlier comments are totally out of character and do not reflect the Club that I have been a member of for 57 year and which I attend regularly!
I would urge anyone to see for themselves, they’ll not be disappointed!

Extremley horrible to my family at aunties 50th. Threatened guests and also got involved in a fight where one male hit a female member of my family. When told to leave the venue at 11pm (end of party) instead of asking politely the words used by staff were "everybody get out now." Abuse was shouted and names were called along with 2 people getting arrested under false allegations. DO NOT BOOK this place needs shut down

NEVER BOOK THIS SOCIAL CLUB FOR ANYTHING. Staff are horrendous and treat their guests/customers like a piece of dirt. Shout at their guests and don't give deposits back for the slightest of things. The staff are probably the main problem of the club and are a bunch of nasty people. All staff need to learn how to treat others with respect.
