He offers piano tuition from beginner to diploma level and music theory to Grade 8, with a special fast track Grade 5 course. Now based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, he is a versatile teacher who is equally at home with young beginners, adult leisure learners and aspiring professionals. He has helped many pupils enter specialist music schools, music colleges and universities and has an excellent track record of exam successes. He is a Fellow of the Independent Society of Musicians and an ISM registered private teacher. He is also a member of the European Piano Teachers' Association and is enhanced CRB checked.

Both of my children have had lessons for several years and we couldn't ask for more. Mr Dunnington is professional, reliable and flexible and above all makes the lessons fun! Especially when the children were very young and first starting out. He has a tremendous amount of patience and is able transfer indepth skill and knowledge. He tailors the lessons to each individual child. My eldest is now auditioning for a music scholarship and I know stands a very good chance under Mr Dunningtons guidance.

Amazing Piano teacher, highly recommended.

I have been learning the piano for 2 years with Mark. I picked up piano as a complete beginner and as an adult learner. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and an excellent teacher. He has a great repertoire of pieces to learn from and will try a lot of different styles and approaches based on your abilities. It has been a lifelong ambition to learn piano, I never thought I could play a tune but Mark has helped me through and now I have a collection of a few favourites I can play.

An exceptional piano teacher.

I have been having piano lessons with Mark for 2 years. His knowledge and passion for music is exceptional. As a mature student he has adapted his teaching methods to suit my needs, I wanted to read music and play the piano without going through piano grades. He adapts pieces of music to match pupils skill levels. I’m still amazed how he records a demo version of the music with him playing, this helps with our learning at home, then he sends a backing track for us to play along to on our own, amazing! His teaches different types of music from classical, pop and jazz. He is a very kind and patient person who is full of encouragement. I would recommend him without any hesitation.

I have had the privilege of being taught by Mark for the last 5 years. Not only is he an excellent teacher, showing endless patience but also inspirational in his choice of pieces for me and his extensive knowledge of his subject. The ability to continue lessons online throughout Covid and beyond has ensured that playing the piano is a major part of my life.
