The Manchester Museum is one that must be visited by all ages and can be such a fun day out. It is located on Oxford Road in Manchester, amongst Manchester University and a bus ride from Manchester City Centre. It’s a really big museum that has lots of different sections for different eras and is really educational. As a child it’s a place where our school frequently visited and I still visit now, and it’s a great boredom solution for kids in the summer holidays. It’s free to get in and it has a cafe and a shop which sells lots of souvenirs which are all reasonably priced.

After many years of meaning to visit the Manchester Museum I finally managed it recently. It was so good I have been back twice with friends and members of my family. The first visit was when I saw the mummies I had heard so much about. They are absolutely fascinating, as are all the items in the Egyptology display. The younger members of my group loved the dinosuar displays and also the amazing large collection of stuffed animals. Not to everyone's taste I know, but the collection does have a huge educational purpose. Entry is free, there is a good cafe and a really well stocked shop.

Located on Oxford road, amidst the university buildings, stands The Manchester Museum. The museum is truly worth a visit. It has a great collection of rare artifacts from almost all civilizations. It has more than 4 to 5 ancient mummies on dispay along the other treasures from egypt and africa. It also has a section dedicated to issues related to racism. There is a section for stuffed birds and animals... and yes believe it or not!! it even has a section of LIVE animals. Then there is stff like palentology and rocks etc. You must not miss the museum shop which has an amazing range of stuff.. my favorite being the awesome collection of healing stones. And did i mention, that the entry is FREE....
