Mahony & Ward Funeral Directors

We chose Mahony and Ward for my fathers funeral two years ago we were led to believe that they were the best by a neighbour of my dad. Before dad died we had a meeting with this company to make sure that dads wishes were carried out. My dad and I were told that because he was with the Co-op we would pay for the funeral when the insurance money arrived When dad passed away we had a meeting with the funeral director at our home my daughter and her husband were present.. We were told in no uncertain terms that the funeral had to be paid before M and W would go through with it. .We said that the insurance money hadnt been paid yet. The funeral director was adamant , ., he then suggested that we would have to have a council funeral, or in other terms a paupers funeral. This man then suggested that we use dads savings which he didnt have any. We ended up having to put the funeral on credit cards of which we had to pay a fee.. I have attended funerals since dads and no one had to pay up front. This is why I am so angry. Mahony and Ward gave us extra stress when we were coming to terms with my dads death.I wish that I hadnt listened to dads neighbour and used the Co-op instead.We were even told that if the funeral dirictor had to visit us again prior to the funeral we would be charged extra!!!
