Reviews

Dark and Dingy, not a pleasant experience.

1
Having visited the new Rochdale store we were very disappointed as it is extremely dark inside and at times claustrophobic. The Next store is just the opposite as it is bright and cheerful as it lets in lots of natural light and doesn’t rely on masses of spotlights as in M and S,which makes choosing clothes difficult as the lighting is so poor. Got to say the architect and the planners got this one very wrong.

Don't bother if you have a disability

1
Only go one star because I can't give less. While I was there I ended up helping a lady with disabilities find what she wanted as the staff didn't seem like they could be bothered. I myself have epilepsy and ended up leaving the store as there were at least 2 obviously flashing lights and lots more that's were flashing at a very fast rate, there literally wasn't a direction I could look in without looking at flashing light. Each visit to this store in the last year has had the same problem. Oh and the clearly visible CCTV monitors also flicker. Won't bother visiting again. My family asked about this issue and they said they regularly checked them as an employee with epilepsy. This falls far below my experience both as a customer of marks and spencer or indeed any shop and as an epilepsy sufferer in employment.
