UPDATE: A couple of months later the Focus broke down whilst my wife and kids were on the A12 at night. The AA reported that the "bodge job" looping over the fuse (carried out by M&D Autos for £100) had caused the Fuel Pump fuse to blow. This looping was removed by the AA and car was able to function with original fault back on (with us £100 worse off).
