Low House Haven Hostel

WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO CURRENT GOVERNMENT COVID RESTRICTIONS BUT LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING BACK GUESTS AS SOON AS WE ARE ABLE TO DO SO.

The Hostel, which is family-owned and affiliated to the Youth Hostel Association, comprises of 6 rooms which can accomodate up to 31 guests. This comprises a male dormitory, a female dormitory and four family rooms. It is ideal, whether you just need a single bed for the night or need a charming location for large family or group event.

The Campsite

THE CAMPSITE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO GOVERNMENT COVID RESTRICTIONS HOWEVER WE ARE VERY MUCH STILL HERE AND LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING BACK GUESTS AS SOON AS WE ARE ABLE TO DO SO.

The campsite is situated directly behind Lowhouse Haven in a picturesque valley. With pitches for up to eight tents and easy access to parking, it gives the seclusion and peace of rural camping with the convenience of being able to use all the facilities in the Hostel and, of course, access to "The Baa".

"The Baa"

"THE BAA" IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS HOWEVER WE WILL RETURN AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OUR VISITORS AND CUSTOMERS AGAIN!

"The Baa" was built at one end of Low House in 2016. It is a small, unique and quirky little pub with a cobblestone floor and an ever increasing amount of sheep related decoration. It serves high quality local ales, its own range of sheep themed cocktails as well as the usual pub fare.

Set in the beautiful village of Edmundbyers just over the Durham border from Northumberland, Lowhouse Haven Hostel and Campsite now has its very own Sheep themed Pub. Great value accomodation.

All bed linen, duvets and pillows are provided, but please bring your own towels and toiletries.

This is a self-catering establishment with a shared kitchen (with ovens and hobs, fridge, freezer, washing up area, pans, equipment, cutlery and crockery.)

We also have a large drying room.

If only all YHAs were as good as this

Wonderful welcome, this was just what we were looking for. We use YHA every couple of months for family weekends and this is a break away from the normal corporate hostel being a privately owned affiliate. We arrived on the Saturday before Halloween and walked straight into a bar full of locals in fancy dress complete with friendly welcome and wood burning stove. The bar is a real focal point for the village.¶¶The rooms were warm, the kitchen was great for self catering.¶¶We would certainly book again. If only all YHAs were as good as this
