5Bad Service and there a plenty of other Hardware shops in the area
1At 1.45pm today I purchased 1 roll of White Tape for £6.99 cash.
I am a Landlord and I found out that the job required more then some tape actually the job required a insulation Engineer. So the obvious thing was to return the tape so at 6.15pm that same day, that's what I tried to do. Well do you think the guy called Amarjit was up for refunding my cash - his answer was absolutely not. He stated that he would have to pay for out of his wages and that his management have made it clear that no money refunds are allowed. "Got your money and now I'm going to keep it policy". Oh but he was prepared to give me a voucher. As a landlord I often need to buy hardware items. Well I will never step foot in another London Hardware shop again. Their Loss - There are plenty of Hard Shops on Westbourne Grove and Queensways who provide a better service and are happy to return your money for further service.
It is unfortunate that one of our customers had an unpleasant experience in our store. In this particular instance, the packaging of the tape at the time of return was not in the same condition as when it was bought. Trying to resale a returned product which appears to have been opened not only damages our reputation (as if seeking to sale a used product) but it also means the product will almost certainly never be picked by another customer. As a small business, we sometimes struggle to absorb these losses. Even then in the above case, the gentleman has been offered a credit voucher which he unfortunately refused to accept.
As an established hardware & variety retailer in Westbourne Grove for more than 6 years, we serve hundreds of customers every day and we can proudly claim that we have won more friends than customers.
