I put a deposit down over the phone on a red Golf GTD and told the salesman the wheels have to be in mint condition or I would withdraw from the deal. He advised me that one wheel was damaged and he would get this repaired professionally. I travelled from Glasgow to collect the car which was parked outside on arriving, looking amazing. I inspected the car and found one bald tyre on the rear and one front tyre had a cut on the wall of the front tyre. I advised the salesman of my findings and was informed it was missed by the workshop and he would replace these tyres, which I accepted. ( In my opinion this was not missed as the car had 14,000 miles on the clock, the bald tyre came off the front and put on the back) When I asked about the repaired wheel he advised me it was the drivers front left. When I was checking I noticed the alloys on the driver side were slightly different. These wheels are diamond cut and to repair them properly they need to cut the entire face off the wheel. They had repaired two wheels badly not one which I was advised about. They cut one inch of the face of the wheel on both the drivers side wheels, I only noticed because the cuts where at different depths. When I inspected the passengers side wheels they didn't have these cuts on that side. I pointed this out to the salesman and he said that that is the way they repair diamond cut wheels. I took a day off work and fuel costs and switching my insurance as I was buying. I decided not to buy the car and requested my deposit back which they did do. In my opinion I was misled over the condition of the wheels and the damaged of one tyre and one bald tyre. I have bought lots of cars over 23 years and am very savvy when buying cars from dealers. It would have cost my £1000 pounds to replace 2 alloys on this vehicle. To the salesman credit he admitted I said the wheels had to be perfect or I would withdraw. I think they were hoping I didn't notice or once I was their, I would still buy.

I had enquired in depth about a rare car. I offered to put a deposit down (refundable) just to come and test drive as I live over 2 hours away. I had to go on there late opening night just to see the car. I booked my test drve 2 days in advance. I was booked in for 7pm. I got up at 5am, got into work for 7 am, re scheduled my entire day so I could finish early. Confirmed on the day my bvooking and said I would be there probably early. I spent 60quid on petrol. Got in the car and drove for 2.5 hours. Upon arriving I was informed the car had been sold... ? I was offered a car for around 7grand more. I got an apology. But I could not believe what they did. They new I was coming at 7 (get there around 6). I got an e-mail at 6pm stating it was sold. They had no mobile no ??. I had set off at 4pm!!. 60quid. I have been told they will source me one direct. But, 5 hour round trip, terrible conditions, 60 quid down, after a confirmed appointment. Not Happy! If they source me one direct I will change my review.. but lets see..
