Terrible service. Broke the clasp of my necklace further and then refused to fix it for me. Advised me to “use some common sense” and responded to questions by saying “if you ask silly questions you’ll get silly answers”. Definitely avoid! Horrible service and broke my jewellery!

One star is one too many! They totally destroyed my watch strap. They tried to cover it up by gluing it. Luckily the glue did nothing otherwise I might have tried to wear the watch and it would have fallen off and possibly smashed. What jewellers can’t change a watch battery without destroying the strap? I’ve been looking online and the only genuine replacement strap I can find is $215 plus shipping from the USA. The staff couldn’t care less, they don’t teven have the maturity to be honest about the damage they did. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If you need a watch battery replaced in Daventry go to Timpsons across from the post office.

I phoned to ask their current buying price per gram for 18 ct gold but the man I spoke to refused to tell me, saying that the price of gold fluctuates. I explained that I simply wanted to know his current price so I could compare it to the current gold spot price before driving into town (who wants to be carrying valuables through town unnecessarily?) but he told he that he was the expert and that it was pointless telling me even his current price as it would be different the next day. Again I made it clear I was aware of that but again he refused, saying I could take my gold in and if I didn't like the price I didn't have to accept it. I was left wondering why he wouldn't tell me. So I said I would be in later that day, so could be please give me the price? Again he refused.

I ended up taking my business to another store, further away, where I was freely given the requested information over the phone.

Staff are always very friendly in Lawrence's Jewellers, we always go here when we need a repair or anything. My engagement ring, which my fiancé bought from here is absolutely stunning, they took it down in size and it fits absolutely perfectly and the shape is still perfect. Recently they have honoured a credit note (which we had lost and only had the bank statement) that was 6 months out of date for a ring we wanted to change but couldn't find anything at the time. I'm so pleased I will be able to get another really special piece of jewellery for Christmas this year after such a horrible year. I am especially grateful to them as a lot of businesses have really taken a hit due to covid.

Can't even change a watch battery without totally trashing the watch and the Manager is the most arrogant person I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. I cannot even give him the benefit of saying he is rude because he goes way beyond that. My suggestion is don't buy from this shop because if anything goes wrong you can forget any form of redress. They don't even offer basic Customer Service, it doesn't seem to be a part of The Managers repertoire.
