Not ver good.

Phoned today for a price for a wheel bearing for a vauxhall Astra.
Phoned around 1230pm
Still waiting on a call back.
How do garages make money when they don't bother calling the customer back.
I ended up going elsewhere.

Too expensive or too naive

So I was in LVS for MOT. I had two dash board light on. One was ABS related and other was with Air bag(Spring clock). After investigation they quoted my around £1200 which included about 400 to replace temperature censer, exhaust pipe etc. another about 350 to replace spring clock. It was too expensive so i decided to have a second opinion. I took car to a private mechanic and upon diognosis he said - I will not require to replace temperature censure, exhaust pipe and charged me less then half price to resolve all issues.
This people has charged me about £87 and wanted me to replace parts of car which was not faulty. I had to pay MOT twice since my car was in garage for almost a week(because of holiday session mechanic was not available).
Be careful guys - Either these people are charging you too much or they don't know what they are doing. The later one is more scary. Please make sure you don't have any dash board light on before you go for you MOT.
They passed MOT hence 2*

As the owner my response is quite simple on this, as pointed out to you when you returned your vehicle for its Mot, your private mechanic only replaced brakes on 1 side of your car, I cant compete in monetary terms because we do the job correctly, professionally and fully, not only half of it, so please dont compare my business to this person as we carry out repairs as they should be and dont mask over them for a quick fix, we also called in a independent auto electrician who confirmed our suspicions regarding the other issues, whatever your "mechanic did to correct these issues I'm unable to comment on, but I'm comfortable and satisfied fully with our diagnosis and coatings quoted.
