An independent professional Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Project Management Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer based in Canterbury, Dover and Thanet. Karl Kohls MRICS, MCIOB C.Build.E, has been professionally involved with building surveying, valuations, planning applications and managing property and buildings and has lived in many of the towns of East Kent for over 40 years.

We inspect buildings and provide peace of mind before you potentially enter into one of the largest single investments you will make. We harness the benefits of information and measurement technology to enhance our surveying and project management service to you, utilising electronic damp reading and measuring equipment. Project plans are produced utilizing the latest CAD and geomatic technology.

Karl has done a homebuyers' report for us. He was the epitome of professional. He was clear about what he would do and the timings. He kept us up to date with progress. And the report was thorough and detailed, yet also clear in what was necessary to action.

Helpful and Supportive

Karl was extremely helpful and supportive in a nasty dispute with a builder. He wrote a comprehensive report which we used to support our case in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and also provided great advice that will be useful to us going forward. Communication was excellent throughout. Karl also remained unflappable when the builder started making nasty claims around his competence - all total lies but horrid all the same. I can recommend Karl for support in domestic building disputes!

Clear photos, succinct explanations

The level 2 homebuyer report Karl produced was thorough and easy to understand with lots of clear photos and succinct explanations. He surveyed some quite difficult to reach areas like the loft and flat roof. Even the insides of fitted cupboards were inspected. There was guidance on what further information and documents to request from the sellers. In a follow-up phone call Karl was generous with his time, happy to answer all our questions and explain relevant building techniques to us. He responded quickly to emails and calls, is experienced and knowledgeable about the local area and I would be happy to hire him again.
