Professional And Fun Guitar Lessons

Kirklees Guitar School offers music lessons for aspiring musicians of all ages and abilities in and around Huddersfield. Learn at your own pace from a syllabus tailored to you, make friends for life and learn a new skill!

We started our music school with the aim of teaching our local community skills that will last a lifetime. Lessons are built on the experience and knowledge our tutors have gained from working in the music industry.

Our students come from all walks of life, ages and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome into the KGS community!

Instruments taught include:

Electric / acoustic guitar, bass, ukulele, piano & drums

Students also take part in our weekend group classes, live performances and weekly Rock band sessions!

KGS, if you want to learn to play guitar,bass or drums this is the place. Seven years ago putting two notes together was a challenge. I went to KGS and started to learn straight away. No pressures and loads of encouragement. All the tutors are brilliant, friendly and helpful. I have gone from knowing nothing to having the confidence to stand on a stage with a couple of groups and see people dance. It’s the best feeling. So if you feel like you want to give this a go please try KGS, they know how to help and bring out the musician in you. Great people, great instructors and great place to learn.

A great place to learn at your own pace

I’m 62 with extensive arthritis in my fingers. However, James and George have been helping me learn to play the guitar. Yes, it is a challenge for me. Their patience and understanding and tailoring my learning at my pace has helped massively. It would have been so easy to give up. However, I’m still there, developing and enjoying my journey. It’s also helping the mobility of my fingers too 👍

PERFECT PLACE TO LEARN

Great place to learn
I have had lessons at the school as an older adult learner for around 3 years and I am really chuffed with my progress. The standard of teaching and support I have received is second to none and I have moved from barely being able to make basic chords to bring in a band! The whole team are always friendly and professional and have gone above and beyond to ensure lessons are engaging and rewarding. Whether you are just starting out or are wanting to progress, I thoroughly recommend this lovely team. They also make a great cup of tea.

Excellent music tuition for all ages. The teachers tailor lessons to the kind of music the student likes, providing a lot of interest and enjoyment and progression. I’ve learned lots of new skills over the last year, and it’s been a lot of fun too.
