Business overview

Set in beautiful woodland surroundings, 5 miles south of Croydon, on the border of London and Surrey.

Kingsmead Equestrian Centre offers a range of horse riding activities, lessons and hacks to suit all ages and abilities.

At Kingsmead, we encourage riders to take an active part in the care of the horses and ponies to enable them to get the most from their time with us.

As well as the riding activities, we offer:

Stable management courses, some leading to the BHS Horse Owner's Certificate

Assistance to students from local secondary schools with the required course work elements as part of their GCSE exam

Work experience opportunities

School holiday courses

A children's party room

The safety of our horses and riders is most important to us. Horses, riders and staff are all fully insured. We have a health and safety policy in force, which is available for inspection. Our experienced staff will teach you the safest way to handle and ride your horse or pony.

Awful Service for special needs children

1
A recent incident of discrimination against my special needs son Nathan by Fiona during a Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) session highlights the need for greater inclusivity in recreational activities. My son , eager to participate, faced undue exclusion from Fiona due to his disability. Such behaviour undermines the core values of the RDA, which aims to promote therapeutic and inclusive experiences for individuals with special needs. This situation exposes the persistent biases that exist even in environments that are supposed to be supportive. Fiona needs greater awareness, sensitivity training, and adherence to RDA’s values are necessary to prevent future discrimination to other vulnerable children.

This is an outstanding stables. The horses are happy and well cared for, and forward so great fun to ride. All the staff are great. Chloe and Chris, the instructors are really brilliant. Whether you want to learn to ride, improve your riding or pick it up again after a break, you couldn't choose a better place.
