Appalling service. 5 days to diagnose my car required a new clutch.
1Thurs 26th Jan 2023, I booked my car in with a certain mechanic (not Keith) and informed him it required a ‘new clutch’ because it hadn’t had one since 2013, plus it struggled to change from 2nd to 3rd gear and had leaking clutch fluid inside the car. Mechanic said it only needed a clutch master cylinder.
The same mechanic had my car Wed 1st Feb, Fri 3rd Feb, Sat 4th Feb, Mon 6th Feb and Tues 7th Feb 2023 and complained he could not get the clutch master cylinder to fit. Tues 7th Feb this certain miserable and abrupt mechanic stated that my car required a new clutch. Took the mechanic 5 days to diagnose that my car required a new clutch! Wed 8th Feb 2023 I collected my car at a cost of £400. No compensation/reduction in price offered due to me having to cancel 6 days freelance work outside of the northwest due to poor workmanship from this certain mechanic. My ‘trust’ in this garage has completely gone.
Hi Neil . I’m sorry you felt you had to put this negative review on . As you stated the clutch master was leaking so you’ve got to change that 1st , Paul did have a problem getting a clutch pedal with the new one , so tried another master cylinder . Unable to get a pedal with 2nd master the only option left is to take the gearbox out and inspect the clutch slave cylinder . This is obviously a bigger job and if you recall I was on holiday so he was unable to fit this escalation in work while he was on his own. I actually took the gearbox out myself when I come back into work on the Tuesday and found the slave to be leaking and replaced the whole clutch . I informed you that the job was done and you picked it up on the Wednesday . You was told of the price at every stage of the job and I take it there is no problem with the workmanship . I do appreciate the time scale effected you and I do apologise but the job escalated at a time when we weren’t fully staffed. Keith
