I am an enthusiastic, qualified female teacher with 20 years teaching experience. Adults and children, beginners welcome. PIANO; a great instrument for budding musicians to start with, easy on the ears, stimulating, play the keys and let the music come alive, learn to produce a beautiful sound. Beginners to Grade 8. HAMMER DULCIMER; a 46 stringed instrument, predecessor of the piano, with its own unique beautiful tone. TUNED PERCUSSION; Timpanist, Glockenspielist, enjoy learning how to play rhythm, with opportunities to join bands/orchestras. MUSIC THEORY - Grade 1-8 . MUSIC GCSE Theory and practice. Tuition available in teacher's or student's home. Covering Cobham, Oxshott, Horsley, Bookham, Esher, Burpham, Guildford, Woking and Walton-on-Thames areas - for other areas please ask. Tuition at student's home will incur additional charge to cover travelling time and petrol costs. Have fun learning a new skill, whilst increasing your coordination and confidence. Infinitely Patient!

Julie is a wonderful teacher! I feel incredibly lucky to have such a knowledgable and talented teacher nearby, and thank goodness it’s Julie! She is infinitely patient even though, as a complete beginner, I’m sure my numerous attempts at twinkle twinkle little star would drive anyone else completely mad. Julie is unfailingly kind and encouraging as I start learning the Hammered Dulcimer as an adult. I sense she really cares about her students and, indeed, she has invited me to join the National Dulcimer club and to get more involved with others who play the instrument. Her sense of dedication to her students and to spreading the joy of music is palpable and uplifting and I feel so grateful to have found her. I couldn’t recommend Julie more highly.

Piano Teacher for all.

Julie is helping me return to piano playing after a gap of 50 years! She is encouraging, enthusiastic, thorough and reliable, with many years of experience and I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for a piano teacher. She is teaching me a wide variety of tunes which I enjoy playing, as I am not interested in passing grades or exams, all in the comfort of my own home.

Outstanding tutor, outstanding talent.

Julie is a gifted musician and music teacher. She has an ability to bring out the best in her pupils whether the are children or adults. (even me) Julie has proved to be a reliable and excellent teacher of, in my case, piano. I have heard Julie playing hammer dulcimer and harp in concerts as well as percussion in the Cobham Brass Band. She is a first rate music tutor and I would recommend Julie to anyone wishing to learn from scratch or in need of a few sessions to brush up and improve their ability.

Excellent maths tutor

Julie has taught both our children over the past five years. Our eldest, gaining an A*, is now attending Brunel University. Our daughter is also benefiting from Julie's expert tuition and sits GCSE maths next June. I have no hesitation in recommending Julie as a tutor. Her professionalism and patient approach do her credit while the results speak for themselves.

Patience is a virtue!

Julie has a considerable and varied musical background which allows her to convey her knowledge with a methodical and experienced approach. She has huge reserves of patience allowing even a complete beginner to progress at their own pace without pressure.
