Joze School of Dance is run by Jo Sproston and offers high quality and value for money dance classes for the local community in Ilkley. The school is affiliated to the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A) & has a 100% pass rate. Students are always encouraged to be the best they can be, and regardless of age, gender or ability, everyone is part of the same "Team Joze!".

JSD offers:

-a wide selection of dance classes for children and adults from aged 3 years (Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Theatrecraft, Contemporary, Acro)

-regular dance examinations held with the IDTA

-annual dance show at the Kings Hall Theatre in Ilkley

-holiday dance and musical theatre workshops

-no joining or membership fees

-costume hire for £10 an outfit or £2 an accessory

Mrs Jo Sproston, Principal, is passionate about sharing her love of dance with dancers of all ages & abilities; she believes that dance is not just for dancers but a really good fun way to get fit and stay active & encourages students to be the best that they can be. She runs the school as a family unit regardless of age, gender or ability you will all be part of the same team. Jo started dancing when she was 4 years old & is an associate member of the International DanceTeachers' Association (I.D.T.A) in Ballet, Modern Jazz & Theatre-Craft. Jo has been running Joze School of Dance in Ilkley since March 2005 & still regularly performs herself.

Outstanding Dance School

My two daughters attended this dance school from a young age right up until they left for university. I was extremely sad when the youngest one left. The school is outstanding, Jo and her teachers are passionate about what they do. They have done so much for my girls over the years, they are more confident, achieved exam success and made friends for life. The dance shows were a highlight of their lives. We shall always be so grateful for the enrichment that Jo has brought us.

My girls had the BEST week at Joze school of dance summer school. The commitment to getting the best out of them, showing them how to work as a team and most importantly having fun shone through and every night they were buzzing with the new friends they had met and dances they had learned. Thank you for giving them the best start to their summer holidays.

I have spent my entire childhood dancing at Joze, from the age of 3 until I left for university, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Joze has provided me with the best second family with Jo and Charlotte being such supportive and talented teachers. I couldn’t recommend this dance school enough.
