Excellent company

Excellent company. I have used them for joinery, plumbing, plastering, tiling and roofing work and all the tradesmen have been great. Communication is also excellent. They keep you well informed about who is coming and when. I would highly recommend this company.

Mr John Mutch - Director

The face behind the name. John is a qualified electrician who served his time from 1984. John Mutch Electrical Services was born in 2005 and has continued to grow and now as John Mutch Building Services, employs 25 people. John’s goal remains the same, to provide a Mutch Better service to our clients.

Mr Scott Tweedley - Operations Director

Scott joined the company back in 2004.He served his apprenticeship with NG Bailey working on mainly industrial and commercial buildings. Once qualified Scott worked under John as a trainee project engineer. Scott oversees the day to day workload for our engineers and liaises with our customers directly to ensure a MUTCH better job is achieved.

Stuart Murdoch - Plumbing Director

Stuart has been a plumber since 2001, he is a valued member of our team and always excels in any job he is given. He is also one of our gas service engineers, specialising in boiler replacements.

Keith Thomson - Electrical Director

Keith has been with the company since January 2006. He is very experienced and has recently been given the role as our Electrical Supervisor. His years spent being an electrician have given him the skills and knowledge to provide quotes that are not only accurate but unique to our customer’s request.

Sheila is the one to keep in with, as she controls the purse strings. During school work experience as a junior accountant Sheila developed a passion for the job and since leaving school she has continued on this path.

Davie joined us at the start of 2014. He is another of our surveyor’s and specialises in property management quotes. As a time served slater, He has worked his way up in the industry and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience Davie is hard working, very thorough and always willing to help out.

Vicky joined us in November 2013 when looking for a career change. She has adapted to the roll of administrator and now helps with the everyday running of the business. Her bubbly personality makes her a natural with our customers.

felt depressed before and this company have made it worse

I asked for a quote to do simple refurbishment of a tiny property . and although I appreciate the honesty I have more or less been told to 'look elsewhere'

This is thoroughly disappointing and I just feel sidelined like my money isn't good enough.

Very quick to respond and very capable and honest. Called them at 16.15, he was at the house by 17.00 and fixed the lock problems very quickly.

Boiler Problems & Roof Leak - Sorted!

Issue 1: After moving to a Victorian house with a tempremental boiler / heating system, we called John Mutch to sort it out.
Long story short, Vicky arranged for Stuart to come out and assess the problem. This he did in no time, sorting the problem and improving access to our hot water tank.

Issue 2: After the thunderstorm on Tuesday morning, we discovered water leaking through our extractor fan.
I immediately called John Mutch, who sent round Davie that afternoon. He identified that the rubber seal around the vent had been incorrectly fitted, allowing water to penetrate. He quickly replaced the seal in no time, thereby solving the problem.
We were astonished that John Mutch managed to identify and solve the problem in a single day, especially due to the volume of thunderstorm related leaks thay had been called to fix that day.
Still, part of me wasn't surprised at all as this company has always been there for us ASAP, every time. Thanks again!

Leaky boiler seal - fixed in no time!

In November, one of our boiler seals worked itself loose, which in turn leaked and knocked out the timer switch.

We called John Mutch immediateley, who sent out the necessary specialist in double-quick time. They identified the problem straight away, repairing the fault in no time at all.

We wouldn't consider anyone else for any of our household repairs, as John Mutch get it right first time, every time. A great service at the right price, which ultimately gives trmendous peace of mind.
