Playing an instrument can be one of the most rewarding life skills. It can bring you joy, help you relax, and challenge you through learning. I think we all express ourselves through music, it speaks to us, whether that’s through listening or playing, 

I offer private lessons from my studio in Portslade or online. Lesson’s are tailored to each students needs and desires. My holistic approach encompasses all aspects of musicality giving students a secure technical foundation so they understand not just the geography of their instrument, but also their movement so that they can develop their playing in any direction. 

A typical lesson will cover:

Cello technique from beginner to advanced

Anatomy and physiology of playing, encompassing some practice from Alexander Technique

Musical expression and performance 

Guidance for practice  and how to practice

Notation, sight-reading and theory 

Aural training

Should students wish to take examinations I offer preparation for graded practical exams as well as GCSE and A Level tuition.
