Qualified Music Teacher / Teaches All Ages From 5 Years & Above

Since graduating from Manchester University with a B.A Honors Degree in Music & Popular Music’s, I have been working as a full time music teacher. In 2007 I set up my own music school called Spire Music & Arts. I welcome students of all ages and abilities. Most students who study Rockschool and Associated Board Practical and theory so far have achieved 100% pass rates from grades 1 - 8. I also understand that some students want to learn music for pleasure and recreation and have no interest in taking exams, however I do structure an individual lesson plan based around the students needs and interests. Students are given the opportunity to perform their music and work at regular concerts put on by Spire Music & Arts. From the age of 18 I have worked as a professional artist /entertainer where I have played pubs, clubs and festivals throughout the country. I have written and recorded my own album “Free Spirit”.

Electric And Acoustic Guitar Teaching

My 12 year old son has been attending Spire Music And Arts for weekly guitar lesson with Jackie for a year and a half now. He really enjoys attending the half hour lessons and is progressing really well. Lessons are 1 to 1 and in the comfortable surroundings of a purpose built music studio on the premises. This enables my son to learn in a relaxed and fun environment. Jackie is extremely kind and helpful and patient. She teaches an enjoyable range of contemporary music. As a result my son has progressed quickly and achieved his grade 1 and 2 Guitar passes in a relatively short space of time. We would definitely recommend to anybody interested in music.

Fantastic tutor

Jackie is a very patient teacher who is friendly, warm and accommodating to my needs. I learn something new every week thanks to Jackie’s excellent teaching methods. She gives me confidence in my abilities as a musician and as a result I got an excellent result in my grade 1 electric guitar exam. The studio is inviting and comfortable and online lessons due to Covid has not disappointed. I can not recommend Jackie highly enough.

Skilled and patient music tutor

A very patient tutor with a structured approach to teaching both music theory and how to play well. Jackie has a friendly manner and adapts to each individual students pace of learning. I would recommend her to anyone especially those, like myself, who started out with a desire to learn but no previous knowledge or understanding of music.

This music teacher,who, with her patience, excellent tuition skills and a natural friendly personality has taught my son to gain his Grade 8 Rock School vocals and Grade 4 guitar. She is highly qualified and skilled in teaching and is herself a superb musician being able to play many musical instruments. Her pupils respect her and go on to do well. I highly recommend her if any parent would like to develop their children's musical skills, to enhance existing talent or as an introduction to music. She teaches a wide age range and all levels of ability. If you've always fancied learning to play an instrument or want to sing well and with confidence, contact Jackie, who will have you playing your own music in no time whilst having fun and in a great environment.
