We were approached to convert a 1960Â’s built working garage into a sympathetic social living space. We transformed the buildingÂ’s past using an oak frame, local reclaimed brick and soft timber cladding.

JR Builders demolished an old house and built a new one for us. From the beginning of the project John Ramsden provided a personalised service. He gave valuable input into the design stage and worked constructively with the architect. He had an excellent knowledge of renewable energy generation.
During the building process his team provided a high level of quality service, were flexible and hard working. The work took a little longer than expected to complete but this was mainly due to circumstances beyond the control of JR Building. The after completion support was excellent.
Overall we were very happy with the service provided by JR Building and would unreservedly recommend this company.

We used JR Building for a single storey extension together with taking down a load bearing wall between kitchen and dining room plus replacing ceilings downstairs and building a garden wall. I would recommend the firm to anyone - good communication at all times and an excellent quality of work and value for money. The whole team were conscientious and hard working from the brickies mate to the MD John. Fantastic job!

The JR team has done a number of smallish works for us and we have very much appreciated the personal approach and contact we have had throughout the different works. In particular, we were given good advice when we had to make choices. We will use John again when we to get to the next phase!

I have known of JR Building for a year in my role as a Property Manager for a national charity with a Gloucestershire base. JR Building have worked for the Charity for a number of years before that. They have undertaken a number of projects for us, from small scale repairs to construction of a new research centre. We get personal attention from director John Ramsden, who is always able to offer sound advice and offer solutions. The quality of workmanship is good. JR Building Ltd offer a range of services under one umbrella, and their interest and knowledge in traditional building skills and crafts gives an interesting and valuable component to their work. If we have a problem, or need to consider a project in the Gloucestershire area, JR Building are usually our first port of call.

Excellent exterior and Interior renovation

JR Building did a superb job managing and delivering a £200k complete renovation of an old house for us recently. The project was delivered on time and on budget by the JR Building team - all full time employees of the company who take a huge amount of pride in their work. Owner John Ramsden was very much hands on and always came up with sensible and well researched suggestions for materials, finishes, and fittings. I would thoroughly recommend JR Building for projects of any size and we would also happy to talk to anyone who would like some more background on this project and the outcome. E Tuohy & M Greenwood
