Excellent service and communications.
We were passed Johns contact details by a family friend when we needed our Grandfather clock case re-finishing. From initial contact and discussions he was clearly very knowledgeable and was very clear about the options open to us regarding full restoration or sympathetic restoration. Communications throughout the process were timely and clear and we are delighted with the finished clock case. I would not hesitate to use John again for future work.

An absolute craftsman
I had a treasured family dining table which was in need of some care and attention, so I contacted John and it was the best thing I could of done - what an absolute craftsman and total gentleman he is! He has transformed my table after only a couple of weeks into something of beauty, highlighting the fabulous grain in the wood which will be cherished for years to come. John kindly agreed to even email pictures of the whole process to me so I could send them on to my family. I would not hesitate to send my furniture to John in the future, I cannot praise his skill highly enough. What a lovely gentleman!

To be highly recommended!
John Farrington is a master craftsman and I can thoroughly recommend him. He has undertaken a number of commissions for me over the past decade or so, all of them beautifully executed: I say this as an exacting person myself. His most recent job for me was the creation of a replacement slat or rung for an antique, ladder back dining chair in mahogany. Its curved rungs are shaped, pierced and carved. John created a new rung: a perfect match in appearance and finish; and - most amazingly - his technique allowed its fitting to the chair without the need to disassemble it. John Farrington’s work is truly outstanding and I find him a pleasure to deal with.

Excellent work and John a pleasure to deal with.
Our oak dining room table had water damage to the top and feet. The top was solid and therefore made of 3 or 4 boards sandwiched together. As a result of the water a couple had become apart at the sides. The grain was also raised. The repair the top it had to be cut at the boards and then biscuited and glued back together. After the repair had been completed there was no evidence that the table had been done. The finish was an excellent match .

Professional Craftsman
John has recently restored our beloved oak display coffee table, not a particularly old / vintage table at approx 30years, however it had been subjected to numerous candle surface burns in that time and in need of some TLC. John has done an amazing job of restoring it, very pleased with the finished result and so glad that we found a local craftsman able to accommodate us. On the back of a job well done I asked John if he was able to restore a broken mahogany and glass barograph case which was my late fathers, several attempts had been made to glue it back together which had only made its appearance worse. John has restored it back to its former glory having had to replace some of the intricate framework completely, it looks amazing and I am over the moon that I now get to enjoy it as my dad once did. Thanks John for keeping us well informed throughout you are a true professional and a first class craftsman.
