Since WW2 starting in a small shop in Toward Rd. J .Ibbitson and succeeding family have been supplying Sunderland with the finest of beef and pork products. In the old market their 2 shops +Cafeteria were so busy the staff never stopped . They had branches in South Shields , and also on the Ford , Pennywell and Thorney close estates. They supplied the Woolworth stores as far South as Doncaster. As an ex employee in the 60`s venturing into the market in the City Centre I was amazed to see the company is still going strong and the products are still as fresh as they ever were. The staff are still friendly and sociable and it was a pleasure to be served. Thankyou.
