Ian is a lifelong musician. Educated to graduate level in the fields of popular music, recording technology and teaching. He has taught guitar for a number of years now.

In 2000 he qualified and worked as a secondary school music teacher but since 2009 has at Rimmers Music School in Leyland, teaching guitar to young and old alike. Additionally he is now bringing his expertise and experience as well as teaching face to be, to the internet in the form of tutorial materials and Skype teaching for people who cannot have face to face lessons.

Ian has had life long experience in a professional capacity as a guitarist as well as in his other instrument which is drums.

This guitar has been doctored to sound like one of Gary Moore's. Part of this is achieved by using Seymor Duncan pick-ups. Only wish I could play as well as my hero.
I did a week during the Commonwealth Games with a band helping them out. We played mainly to Canadians and stormed the place every night. They seemed to like British rock and blues.
This is a 1986 guitar fitted with Seymor Duncan quarter pounders fitted. Again doctored up by various guitar gurus for some great sounds.
You don't want every song to sound the same now do you.
I put this band together. As far as remember, two I met at Butlins during summer seasons and the lad next to me, we played with one or two big bands together.
Its a shame this has mostly all gone now. It was a great place to serve your apprenticeship.
By this time I only played the gigs I wanted. I had started teaching and ran a recording studio.
A time came when I decided I would try school teaching. I needed some qualifications.

I've been having lessons with Ian for about 18 months and I absolutely love it - I can learn what I want and Ian makes it very easy and takes me through everything step by step until I understand it. I'd highly recommend taking his lessons!

Great Teacher

Ian is a great teacher to me. He helps to actually explain things to me clearly therefore I have a clear insight into them. This way, if I don't understand something properly, he'll always help me to change that. He's got a lovely aura to himself, which means I don't feel awkward/embarrassed if I get something wrong in front of him. Also, I like how I can choose which song I want to learn and not one I've been set! My lessons are always fun :)

Just what I was looking for

Great price for a great and very experienced teacher. I've only had a couple of lessons so far however I've learnt a lot already! Ian makes everything easier to understand and really breaks everything down for you.

He's open to teaching any songs you want to learn and sends you straight forward learning material via email that's so easy to follow.

I'm really enjoying myself :-)
