Inexcusable customer service will never return

Inexcusable customer service! We booked the overnight package and on first impressions we were happy. The evening meal was lovely and staff seemed quite attentive. The second day was a non-starter from breakfast. Cold buffet breakfast which tasted awful. Coffee was ordered and no hot drinks brought to the table. The massage was lovely but they placed me in the smallest room and as it was a full body massage I was being moved around which was not very relaxing at all. To top it all off the lunch included in the package was a disaster. Starters came and then we waited 45 mins-1 hour with staff avoiding us. In the end we walked out feeling very upset about our experience. I made a formal complaint and 'The Guest Experience Manager' Joe Hanson never phoned me on Thursday 25th August at 4:30pm as promised to run through my complaint. If he did then this review would have not been placed on as I am all for second chances but never again.

Hoar Cross Hall Health Spa

I had heard good things about this Health Spa but they were not matched by the two speculative visits I have made. The place seems like an anachronism. The new health centre was a step in the right direction but the beautiful 19th century manor has been blighted with some bizarre decorating choices, e.g. its Roman columns and statues near the gyms (which seemed like small fusty rooms with equipment in them as opposed to an enjoyable place to work out). The restaurant was the 'tablecloth and napkins' type, I didn't eat there but didn't feel compelled to either. Lovely grounds though. I would be interested in reading other people's impressions, I came away with a feeling of slightly sad delusion of grandeur.
