Large comfortable rooms and stunning views of the river.

The staff are efficient and the location is pretty good as it's not slap bang in the middle of the city.

Great Hotel at a great price

I stay here when I'm in Glasgow on business. It is a really good quality hotel for the money. The rooms are good, the views from the windows are great and the room service is very good quality.

You get an iMac computer in your room so you can check your email and have a surf. The bathroom was really nice in my room and I would always stay here when I'm in Glasgow.

The City Inn at Finnieston Quay in Glasgow is in fact a chain hotel, but in no way has this feel. Having stayed regularly at a number of chain hotels up and down the UK, this is by far on of my favourites.
Almost adjacent to the Exhibition Centre is couldn’t be more perfect to stay at when attending any concerts or gigs. Although it isn’t ideally located for getting into town, as it is approximately a 20minutes walk along the river and transport links are not fantastic. I can’t help but forget the negatives and still rave about this hotel. The hotel does have a car park, although it isn’t particularly big, I have always managed to get parked no problem. However this has always been during mid-week stays.

The staffs appear extremely helpful, and even the standard rooms I would highly recommend. Decorated to a contemporary taste, they provide up to date media accessories (apple imac tv). The hotel also provides a dvd library free of charge. There are free toiletries which are fairly posh. A gym, bar and a restaurant. I have eaten in the restaurant on numerous occasions, and although not particularly cheap the food is faultless.

Not actually in the river, despite the map

The City Inn is a standard chain hotel, situated right beside the River Clyde. This has its advantages ( the decking area right beside the river is lovely, and it is close to the SECC ) but it is a fair distance from the city centre, and the public transport links are not brilliant.

My room was nicely fitted out with a TV/DVD player ( I was assured that a DVD library is avaible at reception ), air conditions and fine river facing window. The bathroom was also fitted out with a modern shower and nice handbasin unit and shaving mirror. The doorman at the entrance is also a nice touch.
