Helical Gearbox Repairs

As usual a great service by Paul & his team - so refreshing to get such a professional reasonably priced service from such experienced mechanics 👍

I genuinely cannot recommend Helical gearboxes enough. I had an awful experience with a dealership in trying to fix a problem with my car, they were utterly incompetent and I was really struggling to find anyone else who would have a look. I’m so grateful that someone advised us to contact helical, Paul reassured us that he would have a look and we arranged to have the car towed there straight away. Despite the dealership having caused additional issues, Helical identified the fault and resolved everything getting the car working again. After being charged nearly £1,000 by the previous garage and being advised to scrap the car, Helical got it working again and did not rip us off or replace parts we didn’t need. This garage and Paul in particular are absolute experts and genuinely fantastic company.

I was told at my MOT that I had a leaky seal on my differential. I was bracing myself for a potentially bank breaking bill after another garage told me it could mean new bearing for my drive shaft. Ten minutes with Paul and Elliot and my worst fears were…solved. They diagnosed a minor leak somewhere less critical and sent me on my way with a bill for £0.
In the words of the great bard Ronan Keating, “you say it best, when you say nothing at all”.

Great customer service and fantastic repairs. I have used Helical twice now for two gearbox repairs (different cars!) including a clutch replacement. Both times the communication was friendly, knowledgable and with understanding. Absolutely delighted with the quality of their work: reconditioning of the gearbox(s) and the resulting ‘new car’ feel again, in terms of the driving experience.
I trusted them and they have delivered. All at a very good rate and timely.
Very pleased and the first repair is now 4 years ago and the gearbox is still strong 50,000 miles later!

went in for one thing, garage damaged something else in the car, then charged me another £60 to fix a nut, quoting "all parts are dear mate"
