Heart of Oak carpentry is was set up with the purpose of supplying custom made oak frames and joinery focusing on attention to detail and quality sustanible materials locally sourced were possible and focusing on natural and environmentally friendly finishes.we make all are oak pegs by hand on traditional benches using draw knifes all oak is hand planed.most of are large frames are made on site if possible so the customer can follow the process from unfinished sawn timber to the final fitted project.

Master Craftsman

Oliver is a highly professional and experienced craftsman with wood who takes great pride in his work. He replaced a rotten sole plate in our timber framed, black and white cottage.
Communication was excellent and timely. The work was weather dependent and he always let us know the situation. Similarly we had regular on-site explanation of problems and solutions. He was easy to have around the site. His work was precise, skilful and careful. He is a perfectionist with constant attention to the detail of the construction and finish. The site was always left clean and tidy.
We are enormously pleased with the result, would certainly use him again if need arose and recommend him 100% to any one with similar problems requiring a master craftsman. Thank you again, Oliver.

Beautiful deck

My rotting deck needed replacing. I had an initial idea for a revamp in my head, which I talked through with Ollie. It felt like a real collaboration all the way through, discussing options and agreeing each step. His workmanship, experience and attention to detail are impressive. And he is clearly passionate about his work. He kept closely in touch when the weather and Covid delivery challenges delayed the project. I am delighted with the result and know it will stand the test of time. It gives me pleasure each time I step onto it. I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone.

Bomb-proof deck!

Oliver has just completed a deck in our garden and I must say my wife and I are extremely pleased with the result! Oliver was totally professional and always let us know what was happening, especially when he was delayed by weather. The skill and quality that went into the build was exceptional. I wouldn’t like to say that it’s over-engineered, but if North Korea was to throw a few dozen ICBM’s at the UK, the only thing left standing would be our deck!! It’s superb! Many thanks again Oliver! I couldn’t recommend you enough!

Beautiful Bookshelves

Oliver installed oak bookshelves in our sitting with such care and attention to detail and we are delighted with the result. He is so passionate about wood and chooses the wood he uses for not only the best structural result but also for the appearance. He loves to find wood with an interesting grain and goes to great trouble to display the best grain in the finished furniture.
