Scammed to Pay Full Price Twice

1
The Optician decided my eyesight had gotten worse since last year. So recommended 2 pairs of new glasses. They had a special offer on for ‘all frames, all glasses’ of 50% discount for the 2nd pair. This was clearly displayed in the consultation room, on posters, on the website, & on notice boards. And I got well suckered in. Indeed so trusting was I that I happily handed over my credit card to pay for 2 pairs at £99 + £99 = £198. It was only when I got home that I realised that the glasses I’d bought did not actually fit ‘all frames, all glasses’ and were not eligible for the discount. But I was not warned about this when paid for them. If had of been I’d have walked out. First I got caught by the persuasion that I needed 2 new pairs of glasses, the selling point being the 50% discount for the 2nd; then I got well suckered in by being charged the full price for both. I’ve been a customer of Harold’s for years. No longer. Complaints have been made to Trading Standards & the ASA.
