Antique Furniture Repairs and Restoration, A local Antique furniture restorer in Hampshire and the South UK coast.

My name is David Burton and I have been actively involved as a restorer of fine antique furniture and its conservation/ restoration since 1983.We undertake conservation/ restoration to the highest of standards in strict adherence to the ICON code of ethics in the Meon Valley in Hampshire.

After an HND (distinction), in furniture studies I Graduated from West Dean College with a Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma (distinction) in furniture and related objects conservation.I have also completed my Masters Degree (conservation studies).

We also run antique furniture restoration courses here in Hampshire. Whether you are a working restorer, or a complete beginner, we can tailor furniture restoration courses to suit you.

I am a member of the Institute of Conservation (UK) and combined with over 20 years of experience you are in safe hands

Restoration of Edwardian Mahogany Desk

I met David through his website which was helpful but did not fully articulate the skills which he possesses. The desk has been in my family although somewhat neglected for generations. So it was with nervousness that I approached David, who was unfailingly helpful throughout the process of deciding what to do to restore the desk to its former glories. That is exactly what he did in a thoroughly professional fashion from start to finish. The job came in on budget and exceeded my expectations of what was possible once restored. I would have no hesitation in recommending David and his services to anybody wanting to take a step into the unknown where he will guide, advise and complete the work with the minimum of fuss. I am absolutely delighted with my old now new desk. A big thank you, David, for your time and efforts.

Restoration of figure of Perseus

I have a bronze figure (about 1ft high) which is a replica of Benvenuto Cellini’s statue of Perseus holding Medusa’s head. Restoration was needed because Medusa’s head had broken off, and Perseus’s sword was missing. Both the attachment of the head of Medusa and the replacement of the sword was undertaken by Hampshire Antique Restoration. The finished figure is perfect: it looks as though it has never been damaged. I would recommend this organisation to anyone needing excellent restoration work.

High quality restoration and a very friendly service

We had several antique items damaged during a house move - we were recommended Hampshire Antique Restoration by a friend and were so glad we took their advice. David handled everything from the furniture we needed restoring, the clock that got damaged and even a bronze that was broken badly by the movers.

The end result was fantastic - like the damage had never happened! - We can't speak highly enough of David and his team - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
