Outstanding

I had an amazing experience with this vets practice, they were so helpful, kind, caring and understanding. My vets refused to see Fred-puddin and was told to go elsewhere. I will now be using Hampden vets from now. Outstanding kindness.

Outstanding service

I would recommend this practice, and in particular vet Richard for the absolutely amazing service we received when our dog Jasper took a downward turn on Saturday July 6th, following an incident with a stick two days before. We had no idea that Jasper had sustained a serious stab injury in the back of his mouth, but it had become apparent that he was very unwell on Saturday afternoon.

Having briefly explained to the duty receptionist/nurse?, I was transferred to Richard, who had the misfortune to be on duty for what seemed a very busy weekend! He recommended an immediate consultation at Aylesbury, and we rushed over with a by now very depressed and wobbly dog.

Knowing as we do that Jasper doesn’t do anything by halves, we immediately agreed to an exploratory operation, and were amazed when Richard said he could do it almost immediately. What impressed me enormously was that he listened to our concerns re: Jasper not coping well in strange situations away from us, and being generally the sensitive type! We were able to arrange with him to have our dog back that evening and collected him at about 7. The nurse on reception was hepful and welcoming and went through all the medication and outpatient booking with us.

Our little dog is never completely straightforward, and we spoke again to Richard in a bit of a panic, I think both on Saturday evening and on Sunday. He was reassuring and explained why various things were happening, and set our minds at rest.

We have since been back to Haddenham for a check up, and Jasp is still recovering from what seems to have been a very nasty injury, but I was so impressed with the out of hours service that we experienced. Suffice to say that it far exceeds the service experienced at a hospital not so very far away when our daughter had appendicitis!

Warm, friendly, fantastic staff

In December 2012 our family baby, Zulu, a border collie, was diagnosed with terminal lymphoma. Malcolm, the vet who dealt with our case, was very patient whilst we probably bombarded him with senseless questions and probably repeated ourselves regularly. He told us our options and discussed any issues we had to aid us in this. We realised that whatever course we decided on, we were only buying time and knew he (Zulu) was not suffering - Malcolm assured us of this. We went through Christmas with Zulu on steroids and all was looking positive. Towards the end of January, Zulu took a turn for the worse and we knew it was time. We made a call into the surgery and made the arrangements. When we were there, Malcolm and the receptionist (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) - made us comfortable. Malcolm spoke us through the process that would follow. We were with Zulu for quite a while after he went to sleep and then the feelings of guilt started to set in. (This was on Friday). By Sunday, I had almost convinced myself that we'd been too hasty in our decision etc.etc You question yourself over and over again. On Monday, a beautiful card arrived in the post from Malcolm. It wasn't just one you'd pick up off the shelf and just write sorry. He'd put a poem on the left of the card and written his own thoughts on what we'd gone through. Assured us that he would have made the same decision. This was just what I needed to reassure me that we had done the right thing; no matter how hard it was.
I will 100% recommend Malcolm and the rest of the team at Hampden Elm Farm and we have already returned with our new addition, Bokkie.
They go that extra mile to give you that special, personalised service. They clearly do what they do cause they love it.
