Caring Staff and Happy Pets

Ted actually looks forward to his stays at Grange. He pulls me into the reception when I check him and he’s always clean, relaxed and happy when I come to collect him. The staff put a lot of effort into getting to know their guests, and I can relax when I’m away knowing my dog is safe and happy

Excellent kennels with a personal touch

5
Amazing kennels with wonderful staff. My two dogs were in for 12 nights and they were cared for brilliantly. I even received videos and photos of them playing while I was away and they looked so happy! I don’t think they wanted to leave as they loved the people looking after them. The facilities are excellent, with indoor/outdoor pens large enough to accommodate more than one dog. There are also large outdoor play areas and acres of grounds so the dogs are exercised and played with a number of times a day. I think they got lots of cuddles too which was lovely. It felt like a very personal service, which I hadn’t been expecting.

Regarding previous reviews, this is not something I recognise. The owner, Sue, is clearly highly experienced and has dogs of her own. One of my dogs is a barker and the other one was quite anxious going in, but they came out so happy and that’s all that matters to me. We will use again without hesitation!

All is not as it seems...

We've just picked up our dog after a 10-day stay in another Island kennels - he was well cared for, bright, alert and happy after his "break". What a contrast to The Grange, where we have boarded him regularly since arriving on the IW in 2015. The manageress made us feel guilty for even suggesting we should leave him. Our dog was "not suited" to boarding, was "over anxious" and "barked a lot". Unhappy, we pulled out of our latest booking when she insisted we put him on a course of anti-anxiety/tranquiliser pills.
Suffice to say the kennels we chose as an alternative were brilliant and told us our boxer/staffy cross was well behaved with no problems.
He is eight years old now and we never had any problem when boarding him in Kent before we moved to the IW...when he was six.
My advice? Check for yourself. The Grange certainly looks good with fine grounds and offices. The woman in charge was patronising and pedantic and our much-loved dog certainly won't be going back.

Innexperienced owner with a bad attitude

1
It seems the owner does not have experience of dogs, as she turned away ours because she growled. We left her to take our dog down to the kennels, when she disappeared we heard her shouting. She said she could not keep our dog there and that we had to take her home. She totally ruined our plans. Her attitude towards us was very rude.
