Reviews

Gordon's Bistro poor quality food.

1
If you're thinking of eating in Gordon's Bistro don't bother Today I purchased a toasted tea cake which was so hard I could have played the drums with it. My companion had a 'freshly made' scone which was also hard and stale. After pointing this out to one of the staff she apologised and said she would 'pass it' on to for us. I have eaten there beforenseveral months ago the 'fresh' cakes were stale then as well, but I thought I might try again today. Lovely surroundings but very poor quality snacks.

Disability a Lifestyle Choice!

1
Unfortunately the staff showed no empathy towards a disabled customer which escalated due to poor management and ended with a manager, yes manager, telling my wife who has Multiple Sclerosis and uses a wheelchair that her disability was a « lifestyle choice! »
A full complaint will be sent but surely as a society we have progressed more than this.

Don't expect too much of a welcome

2
We arrived just in time on a Wednesday at 17:20 having struggled through the rush hour traffic to get there. There were three members of staff in front of reception by the door telling people arriving to go away because they closed in ten minutes. They will of course be opening tomorrow when people will already be in work at their desks. Other garden centres are available.

Excellent all around

5
Been going to this garden centre for more than 20 years, and is by far the best one in a good 10 mile radius, has better stock than others, pet food is sold at a competitive price and has the best choice of fish out of any of the local garden centres...
