Bad food

This review is about the cafe.. myself and my husband had a look around the garden centre which is lovely. Decided to have breakfast which was very poor .. the food was cold and undercooked for £21 I would of wanted better, would not recommend to eat there.

Buy with confidence.

I replanted my garden from plants bought here. Staff were very helpful and collected everything I had listed. However what has really impressed me is their response when one of three expensive “red robin” little potted trees died. They without quibble gave me a full refund. Some months later the second died, and they considered the problem and gave me another refund. All other plants are fine. I very much appreciate the insurance given when plants are bought from Gordales.

Poor standard during risky times

1
The usually high standard of service and buzzing atmosphere at Gordale is distinctly noticeable by its absence in these days of Covid 19 restrictions and the new guidelines that have come into place in retail outlets and garden centres.

What struck me on a recent visit was firstly the distinct lack of sanitation stations to protect hands, clean basket handles and trolleys. Secondly, none of the toilets were open, including the toilets at the front of the site that adjoin the petrol station. Thirdly, whilst it is at the discretion of staff members whether they wear masks and visors or not, in a place frequented by many elderly visitors it seems remarkably foolish and arrogant of the management to assume all their staff are somehow immune from this potentially deadly virus and can remain unmasked.

If most supermarket and retail outlets can maintain high levels of protection, so can Gordale if they get off their high horse. Until then it may be best to avoid the current set up.

Lovely staff and accommodating for disabled.

Always a pleasure to visit Gordale with my elderly mum. The staff are always so accommodating with my mother in her wheelchair and everywhere is very accessible.

Always enjoy a cake and cup of tea in the cafe and a walk around the outdoor area - if the weather is nice enough!

Great variety of plants and shrubs and they always last forever when we have bought them.

Really friendly till staff who always put a smile on our faces and have us leaving looking forward to returning again.
