Decent beers

I didn't eat here so I cannot vouch for the food. But it is a decent enough place for a pint. They always seem to have a couple of really good craft ales and its location makes it a great place to stand outside and watch the world go by. Also, they have outdoor heaters which are ideal for chilly evenings.

Don't bother eating here

My wife and I called here mid afternoon Friday 3rd December. A good range of real ales which I enjoyed. All was well until we ordered meals. Service very slow and then only mine arrived. My wifes meal was delivered to somebody else who cut it up before the waitress/duty manager realised the mistake and took it back. 15 minutes after I had finished mine we were lied to that the kitchen was busy. When I pointed out that we knew what had happened the meal was cancelled and we were given a measly 10% off the bill. Not a good experience at all.

This is a really nice (relatively) traditional English bar, friendly atmosphere and despite the other reviews here I have always found the food to be up to scratch for the price, and for a bar.
Its a great pub to go to at lunchtime in particular, and I prefer the upstairs bar then.
I would recommend it to anyone that just wants to grab a bite to eat and a pint.

Would agree with Mundek, on this one.
I had Fish and Chips which were pretty bad. When there are pubs like The Endurance around, who would eat here?

A west end pub....

....and typical of the genre.
Moderate selection of tap beer, generally poor wine list, indifferent staff and food that looks like it has been cooked in a school kitchen.
My "aberdeen angus" burger looked pretty anaemic and pre-prepared. It tasted quite miserable too.
Not really better or worse than the local competition. Leave it to the tourists.
